Nails ~ Pink Shock

Hello again! I have a simple nail design to share today. I used Maybelline Color Show polish in the very appropriately named, Pink Shock and loose hexagon glitters.

Here's another close-up from a different angle.

Bold, "neon" colours that I've tried so far seem to have the same characteristics to me. If you try to layer too many coats on, the colour becomes less and less true to what you see in the bottle. To achieve the true neon colour, it's best to use a milky base coat with some sort of pigment, or white polish underneath the neon colour. For this polish, I used my Essie fill the gap base coat. After additional coats of Pink Shock, I noticed the colour become darker and less true to the colour seen in the bottle. So I decided to paint another coat of the Essie base coat before painting another coat of the neon, and the colour turned out brilliantly.
So yeah, there's a small tip for you guys in regards to neon polishes. I haven't tried many neons... I'm not a huge fan of other bright colours besides pinky colours, I guess. But if your neon isn't turning out the way you want, try a milky base coat or a white polish under it, and the colour will show up much nicer.

That's all for now :) Until next time~

Recent Purchases ~ Wallet + Polishes + Clothes + Shoes

Hello again blog world! :) I've been collecting a few things from here and there and I finally have time to make a post ^__^!

First off is my new wallet!
Kate Spade New York Cobble Hill Lacey Wallet in deep pink - $119 + 25% discount = $95.20
I bought this off gilt for a discounted price :D Also got a 25% discount... so yup, pretty awesome. I love the stripey pattern inside, it's such an adorable touch. Also pink is my favorite colour, so I don't think I'll ever get sick of this :)
It's too bad Cindy told me that the Kate Spade writing on the front rubs off :( I'll try my hardest to preserve it.. even though I just seem to wear out a lot of the stuff I own a lot quicker than other people.. Sigh.

Next up are some polishes...
Sephora by OPI Go My Own Way, Sephora, $6 & Essie Cute As a Button, Walmart, $7.96
I said I would probably go back and get the Cute As a Button next time on my previous post, right? Well I did go back to get it xD Yippeeeee~ And all Sephora by OPI polishes are half off ($6) right now, so I thought I'd pick one up too.

Went to RC with Cindy a few days ago and picked up this hi-lo navy maxi skirt from Plenty. They're having their spring/summer sale :D I have a feeling they'll lower prices more in a bit, so I'm definitely gonna go back to check a few times in the next few weeks.
Anyway I can't wait to wear this :) Now I still need to find a maxi dress....
Comme Toi Navy Hi-Lo Maxi Skirt, Plenty, $37.80 (sale)
I've been eying these shoes for about... probably over a month now, and the other day when I went to the Bay, they were having an additional 25% off their sale shoes, so I though I might as well pick them up! I've tried them on sooo many times.. probably like on 10 different occasions? LOL Well I'm not sure about that, but if that's true.... wow... geez I go to the mall a lot lol.
Franco Sarto Cicero Pumps in Black, The Bay, $74.99 (sale)
Sorry if the lighting for these pictures are sorta wonky. I was working with the yellow lighting downstairs and it never turns out well. I tried to fix them up in PS.. I tried.

Franco Sarto Cicero Pumps in Black, The Bay, $74.99 (sale)
That's all! I'll have a new nail post up real soon :)

Nails ~ Lavender Glitter Explosion! + A few recent purcahses

Heyo! Quick update :)

I purchased this light purple polish w/ glitters the other day at Walmart and I decided to paint my nails with it xD

Here are the 2 polishes I got from Walmart.

Essie Mint Candy Apple, $7.96 & Hard Candy pixie pink, $3.98, Walmart
Even though it's called pixie pink, I really think it's more of a light purple/lavender colour...
And I finally picked up Mint Candy Apple! Walmart recently rolled back their price on Essie so I decided to get it. I wanted to get Cute as a Button too... but maybe next time.

Here's my nails~
Sorry for the bottom pic, I know it looks weird lol. It was so hard to take the picture with my left hand when the button is on the left side of my heavy ass camera.... at least I got a decent shot!

And here's a close, close-up xD

I used Essie To Buy or Not to Buy (on ring finer + loose purple glitter) & Hard Candy's pixie pink... and the usual base+top coat.

Ooooh this reminds me, I took some pix while browsing at Walmart.
Here's the Hard Candy polish display... I want ALL OF THEM T___T

Here's some close ups of the different polishes...

They're ALL soooo pretty.. Why can't I have them all T_T

I guess pixie pink does look pretty pink here... but Iunno, on my nails, it still looks purple.. =_= I want that other pink one too.. cotton candy pink.. maybe I'll get it next time. Pink taffy is cute too! I might pick it up next time.. sigh whatever >.<

I really wanted this one, hip hip hooray

I narrowed my choices down to this one & pixie pink, but chose the pixie pink one cuz I dunno how often I'm gonna use this one :c It's SOOOO glittery and that's a guaranteed hard-to-remove polish T_T

Anyway~

I also picked up this pair of shorts (they're actually navy...) from H&M. On sale! Only $7 :D
Yes I have a problem. I srsly need to stop buying so many navy clothing items =___=" This'll be cute with leggings tho, and the weather these days has been perfect for leggings... It's not super hot, not super cold.. sometimes it'll be raining. Meh. Van weather...

That's all for now! Phew. It's a lot longer than I intended, lol. See you next time!

Random past nail art + future hair care purchases (maybe?)

Hello!
Thought I'd post tonight since I'm pretty darn bored, and thought I'd share what's on my nails now... Which led me to unloading pictures from my phone, which led to me unloading a lot of pics of past nail art. I always wanted to do a post dedicated to those nail designs I have on my phone, but didn't take nice pictures of with the big cam. Well, here they are!

Err... almost. A few notes before we begin.. :p
This post is a little photo-heavier than my usual posts.. juss sayin'
I apologize for crappy picture quality in advance... it was a really big switch from a 3GS to a 5... xD
I might not remember every polish I've used for these nail designs, so don't blame me if I can't name them all...

Alrighty, here we go!

OPI Dulce de Leche w/ some random off brand from night market one on top + nail stickers
The first ever time I tried a gradient!! It turned out pretty messy, lol. And I decided it was a good idea to take a pic before I cleaned up around the nails... yeah...

Essie e-nuf is e-nuf w/ glitter polishes... all off brands
Woo! Super glitter! Second time doing gradient.. I used like a million glitter polishes, lol

Essie Jamaica me crazy, Sinful Colors Frenzy, off brand Korean glitter
Guess I was really diggin' the gradients.. hahaha

Pretty sure this was Essie Jamaica me crazy again... + OPI Servin' Up Sparkle + other off brand sparkle/glitter polishes

OPI Pearl of Wisdom, OPI Last Friday Night + prob more random other sparkle polishes...
 Surprise, surprise! Another gradient hahahahaha

OPI Cuckoo for this Color + random metallic one from Daiso + loose glitter
Sorry, bad picture... but it's the only one I have! xD

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Raisin' the Bar + glitter PAINFULLY EXTRACTED from OPI Servin' Up Sparkle LOL
This one's really pretty :3 but it was hella tedious to do. This was around the time I started experimenting on/trying out more drugstore polishes... found out there really isn't much of a quality-difference between brands like OPI, Essie and some cheaper drugstore brands..

Rimmel Hard Metal + dotting tool + Revlon Silver Dollar
OPI Chapel of Love
Yup... this is just a swatch on the nails, I guess lol. Love the colour.

China Glaze For Audrey (my first and STILL my only CG polish) + lose glitter + rhinestone

My take on the "cloud" nail trend.. a yearish ago :) Joe Fresh Hula, Essie To Buy or Not to Buy, Jessica Bikini Blue
I'm quite fond of this cloud design too...  I've said to myself that I'd do it again some time... but I still haven't... maybe this summer, lol.

Essie To Buy or Not to Buy + lose glitter, individually placed
This is probably when I started my blog last year... hahaha anyway... next~

Sinful Colors You Just Wait + Essie Eternal Optimist + Essie Beyond Cozy
My nails from a few weeks ago.. forgot (too lazy..) to take pics of... but I got them on my phone lol so yay! I quite like the design, but the base colour looked soooo weird to me.. that's what inspired the design btw lol I couldn't stand how weird that one colour looked on my nails...

Finally... we have this picture of what's on my nails now :)

Wet n Wild Wild Shine Blazed
This colour looked a lot more... rosey pink in the bottle. On the nails, it's actually quite bright and eye catching. I'm falling in love with these brighter polishes all over again :)

Moving on...
I also wanted to talk about some hair products I've been scoping out recently.

1) Jason Tea Tree Shampoo+conditioner - spotted at London Drugs

I have problems with an itchy scalp.. and after trying Pantene, Dove and Organix, I finally went for the Head and Shoulders. It did a great job controlling the itch on my scalp.. but I could feel it drying out my hair soooo bad. I decided to try the Live Clean Fresh Water line. I decided on it cuz I heard that parabens & all that bad stuff in shampoos can irritate sensitive scalps.. so I thought the paraben & whatever whatever-free Live Clean brand would help. The first time I tried it, it felt pretty good, and the itch didn't come back. But after a few more washes, that itchy scalp was returning. After I finish the bottles of Live Clean I have right now, I'm pretty sure I'll try this Jason line. Hopefully it works...

2) Macadamia deep repair masque - also spotted at London Drugs.. on a diff day

I've heard sooooo much about this masque, but I've only seen it in person twice. Once at Shoppers' and it was in a big tub selling for $32. I felt way too cheap that day to drop 30+ on a hair mask, so I passed on it. I returned maybe a few days later, and all of them were sold out. Of course. It's a popular product. I've heard so many YouTubers recommend it, so I really wanna try this for myself. My hair is always a frizzy, hay-like mess.. ESPECIALLY after I shower and I let it air dry... It's not much better if I blow dry it.. unless I use a comb and legit straighten it with the blow drier.. ANYWHO. It's the first time I've seen this mask in a smaller tube, and it's only $15ish. Maybe if I see this again, I'll pick it up. If I'm not feeling like a total cheapo lol. It's better than paying 30+ for a product that I may or may not like.

*phew* that's it for now! Til next time :)

"Recent" Purchases ~ Clothing + Shoes

Hello again! I'm back so soon :p
Yes, this is another "recent" purchases post lol.. some of the things I bought a few months ago, but a few of these things are actually recent xD So here we go!

Dex emerald short sleeve flowy chiffon top, $29.25 (sale, 25% off), The Bay

Dex navy blue 3/4 top w/ red stripes, $17.40 (sale), The Bay

Here are some more recent items :)

BDG distressed denim vest, $19.99 (sale), Urban Outfitters
I don't buy stuff from U.O much... mostly cuz I don't visit there much xD but I found some cute stuff last time I went with Cindy :) Loving this denim vest + the graphic tee below. Quick tidbit, the price tag on this vest said $39.99, but when the cashier rang it up, it was $19.99. Score!!

Society6 graphic tee, $9.99 (sale), Urban Outfitters
Finally are these shoes I just got today :D Picked them up on sale... sad thing is, I checked my email when I got home, and apparently The Bay is having an extra 20% off almost all merchandise this weekend... great timing right? :/
Anyway I got these in an 8.5, but they seem just a litttttle tight... I might go back and try on a 9 just to see if it's really THAT much bigger and then exchange them... we'll see :s

Nine West APPLAUD in Taupe Patent, $69.30 (sale), The Bay
Nine West APPLAUD in Taupe Patent, $69.30 (sale), The Bay
Sorry the colour on these last 2 pics is a lil weird... the light downstairs is really yellow so I had to try and fix the colour in ps.

Anywho that's all for now.. Think I'm gonna go paint my nails now, lol. :p
Ciao~

K-Stuff ~ Kpop & Kdrama Updates

Hello c:
One of the reasons I decided to start blogging again was so that I could talk about stuff here that I can't talk to anyone else about...either because they wouldn't know what I'm talking about, or I think they'll be disinterested... :p

Well anyway, I'm a Korean pop-culture addict, and here are just some things that I've really been enjoying recently :D

First off is some songs!

1. B2st (Dongwoon & Yoseob) & BTOB (Changseob & Ilhoon) - Bye Bye Love (When a Man's in Love OST)

I've been suuuper addicted to this song recently. A while ago, it was the only thing I listened to on repeat... On my way to school, while driving, on the computer.. everywhere! I know it's not a particularly excellent song or anything, but it's just really addictive. There's no desperate pop-trend element that pops up, begging for the public's attention because it's a soundtrack song/OST for a drama. I enjoy Changseob's voice sooo much! It totally helps his case that he's adorable and dorky haha... Yeah, my bias in BTOB might be shifting from Hyunshik to Changseob >.< Anyway~ My favorite part of the song is at 3:46 - Changseob's part in the climax (my opinion) of the song.. it totally blows me away. I've listened to only that one line over and over again as well. Sigh, I don't know, I just really like this song.

2. BTOB - My Girl

Ah~ Another one of my favorites :) I don't know.. it's just a really sweet and soothing love song. It makes me wish my future boyfriend would sing it to me haha, it's a really really sweet song that fits the nice weather we've been having lately. Hmm.. maybe it's better to imagine me being able to see BTOB singing it live one day... haha, a girl can dream.
I'm glad I purchased the physical copy of this album, BTOB's 2nd mini album titled Press Play. It contains some good songs... K, maybe I'm just BTOB biased cuz I've followed them for a while now... since their debut, actually. I've watched all their diary episodes and their B+ Diary.. and a whole bunch of other videos. I dunno, they're dorky and weird but in a very likable way, lololol. They're one of my favorite rookies from 2012, alongside a few others.

Anywho, beware of cavities after listening to this song/reading the lyrics :p

3. C-Clown - 멀어질까봐/Far Away... Young Love (Acoustic Guitar Ver.)

Ah... another rookie group I've really been liking. Their most recent single, "Shaking Heart" is pretty good too (actually, the whole album is pretty good.. but I digress), but I think their second single (this video...) still tops my personal chart. This is the acoustic version; the original version is pretty good too, but I think I just prefer this version as of right now. When this album first came out a few months ago, I listened to the songs sooooo much that I got sick of them. So for a while, they were off my current playlist.. but I decided I had enough of a break and re-added the songs back into my playlist. It's a really catchy song. I think this group has talent and I hope to see them succeed in the future (same for BTOB.. :p) It's actually kinda funny cuz one of the rappers in C-Clown was really close to debuting as a member of BTOB. His stage name in CC is T.K but his real name is Minwoo. He's a real cutie :p I think he's my bias. When he raps, there's just something about his voice that's really attractive... even though he's several years younger than me <__<" I dunno, he enunciates really well and his rapping is very... smooth. On top of that, he can also sing. :D

On a different note, I really don't like the group names BTOB or C-Clown very much... I came across an interview with the leader of C-Clown, Rome (he's from Australia! and he looks suspiciously like CNB's Yonghwa... but I digress... again) explaining the meaning of "C-Clown."

It's a really cool concept, and it has a pretty profound meaning.. but I dunno.. C-Clown? :/ Meh. And BTOB (Born to BEAT! *snap*) isn't much better either lol ;-; I heard G.na came up with the name... le sigh. Oh well, it's not like I can change their names. =_= Just gotta live with it.

Ooh, looks like I've finished the song part of this post xD Now onto.. dramas! Or in this case, drama.
The one and only drama I've been watching these days is....

Monstar!
I really didn't expect myself to be watching this.. I like Beast, but it's not like I'm a big fan of Junhyung or anything xD Anyway I started watching because a few weeks ago, the English subbed version of the first ep popped up in my YouTube subscription feed and I was curious. I was pretty much hooked after that 1 ep. The plot is pretty cheesy, I mean it is a high school drama, so that's to be expected, right? But I've always enjoyed high school dramas. I guess my taste is going to be forever immature xD OH WELL!
I think Junhyung is doing a lot better than I thought I would perceive him to be... I mean.. I actually find him a lot more attractive than before.

I'm not much of an acting critic, but I think he's doing an alright job. The rest of the cast is ok too. The second male lead is from To the Beautiful You (pretty stupid drama... but again, I enjoyed it too.. Lee Hyun Woo is a freaking cutie... LOL ok I'm digressing again) and he's a good lookin' fella. The female lead is cute. I think her facial expressions are a little awkward sometimes, but it's nothing that distracts from the storyline, so it's fine. Oh that reminds me, here's a part of the ep 1 (there's currently only 3 eps out...fml) that I really enjoyed:

I really like the female lead's character, standing up for the poor dude getting bullied :/ I think it's quite a beautiful scene. It reminds me of School 2013 (man that was a good drama, I wish I blogged about my experience watching it!) and the relationships between students that are so foreign to me. Ooh I should add, I really enjoyed how the singing was LIVE. I remember watching Dream High/DH2 and I was so irritated that the idol singers couldn't sing live/weren't allowed to sing live.

Oh yeah... and it definitely doesn't hurt that Sungjae, Hyunshik, Changseob and Minhyuk from BTOB are acting as Junhyung's band mates in the drama. Even though we don't get to see them much.. I still enjoy their presence. (Cube fam ftw!)

Overall I'm enjoying the drama. Don't watch it expecting a brilliant plotline or award worthy acting. It's just a fun drama to watch.

Phew! What a long post... alrighty, I think I'm gonna wrap it up here. See you next time!

Nails~ Light Pink, Hearts & Glitter

Hihi! Long time no nail update... either <__> I'm sorry :p

Argh... it's been a while, but I update with some not-so-nice pics.. lol. My nails were pretty grown out when I took these pics... sorry <.< At least I got pics! xD

I sorta got this idea from some nail inspiration I got off Instagram... I'll post a screen cap I took with my phone later :p

Edit: Here it is! My inspiration~

These little hearts are so cute! And they're actually pretty easy to do.. pretty sure I learned how to do them from cutepolish.. or some other YouTube video.
Not gonna go into too much detail~ here are the polishes I used (and dotting tools... even tho I forgot to include them in the pic)

Essie Fill the Gap, Sephora by OPI I Gotta Blush on You, Sally Hansen White On, Revlon Silver Dollar, Art Deco striper Ice Breaker, Sally Hansen Insta-dry
~♔Josephine ♥

Long time no see!!! Random "recent" purchases

Hello blog world! I haven't posted in soooo long.. Guess I kinda just fell out of the routine, but I'm back xD Unfortunately, I haven't taken pics of the clothing pieces I've purchased since my last post.. but they'll be up soon (I hope :x)

Anyway~ here's a few things I've purchased "recently" :P I use the quotation marks because it's been a few months since I bought some of these things... but anyway, here we go~

Material Girls sunglasses, $13.50 (sale), The Bay
One day a while ago, I was just trying on some sunnies for fun and I came across these. I was feeling really cheap that day so I decided to go back for them. I received an email shortly before going that said The Bay was having a "25% off for 2 items" accessories sale. It was 30% off for 3 or more items, but I couldn't get myself to buy more than 2 pairs cuz I didn't really like anything else.. plus I was using gift cards, and the most convenient amount they came in was in 25s... so yeah. Anyway, these were originally $18 each but I got them for $13.50 each :3

Silver & Gold Infinity rings, $7.25, Icing by Claire's
I was SOOOO excited when I found these! I've been looking for something like this for sooo long. I could've purchased them online/from FB shops.. but you can't even try them on. Plus I never really felt compelled to go through all the trouble of ordering and facetrading and blah blah. Anyway~ I walked into Icing one day when I was walking round Metro and I spotted these! At first I only saw size 8's.. Then I found one size 7... Size 8 fits fine, but in order to wear it on my fatter fingers, size 9 or 10 is better.. so I kept looking.. I ended up looking around the whole store (and they had infinity necklaces too! but they were too ~bling~ for my taste, so pass) and then I went BACK to the ring rack.. looked some more and I FOUND THEM~ Size 9~~ I felt like it was fate so there was NO way that I wasn't gonna get them XD Plus they were only $7.25 for both.. what a steal >_< The quality of Icing pieces are a lot better than F21, so I thought it was such a good deal. That's my little story that follows these rings xD I love the infinity pattern... well, cuz I love Infinite :P It's my lil way of showing them some love without being too crazy lol~

Sephora by OPI polishes in I Gotta Blush on You and Ocean Love Potion, $7.99 each, Winners
These are my first ever Sephora by OPI polishes ^__^ I couldn't resist the colours! They're so cute haha, plus I picked them up for only $7.99... gotta love Winners.

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Polishes in Something Blue and Diamonds, $3.97 each & Pure Ice in Jail Bait, $1.97, Walmart
Picked up these polishes cuz I haven't tried either brand/line of polishes before. Plus the Diamond Strength ones are usually a lot more expensive...

Jewelry storage box, $7.99, Winners
I picked this up just the other day :) It's so pretty! Btw this is like my whole ring collection.. lol I barely wear em anymore but I have quite a selection, don't you think? -_- Woo spending money on ~useless~ stuff... that's me alright lol. Oh yeah, I totally forgot to take a picture of this before I put all my rings in... and I'm not about to take them all out, take the pic and then rearrange them..... so yeah. This is the best I got, lol.

PHEW~ This is the end.. of this post <__<" I think I'll do one more nail post before I go to bed. Not gonna edit cuz it's almost 3 and I got school early tmr... (sigh... why did I take that nap on the couch... WHY....) Bye!

~♔Josephine ♥

Edit: June 7, 2013 - 3:02 AM
Hihi! Just wanted to pop in here and add that I also purchased another jewelry organizer box thing from Winners :D
Jewelry storage box, $9.99, Winners
