Nails ~ Turquoise Gradient

Sooo yesterday I was looking through my polishes.. and I realized I have a lot of this kind of colour:

Revlon Minted, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Essie Turquoise & Caicos, Essie Where's My Chauffeur, Wet n Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint, China Glaze For Audrey, Sephora by OPI Ocean Love Potion, Sally Hansen Insta-dri Mint Sprint

Minty-torquoise-y colour? I actually really like this kind of colour, but I haven't worn it in so long cuz I know how badly it stains my nails.
Still, I decided to do a fun gradient with these and here's how it turned out!

I quite like it xD Although there's not a huge difference between my index, middle and ring fingers, I still think it looks good.

So here's what I used: I started off with this Sally Hansen Maximum Growth base coat because I've had it for a whole and it's like half gone. I thought I'd just use it again. Then I decided to paint some of this nude colour as a base first, so hopefully the turquoise doesn't stain my nails too badly (Wet n Wild megalast in 2% milk) and I topped my nails off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Here are the different shades of turquoise I used:

Essie Mint Candy Apple, Wet n Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint, China Glaze For Audrey, Essie Where's My Chauffeur and Sephora by OPI Ocean Love Potion.

I wonder if I have this many shades of other colours in my polish collection? Maybe I'll do the same thing with a different colour next time :P It was fun and I think it turned out quite nicely.
What do you think?

I just did a simple combination of pink and metallic/glitter polishes. Still not feeling super bright colours atm cuz I don't wanna stain my nails.

Here's what I used:

OPI Nail Envy, Essie Spin the Bottle, Essie Hors D'oeuvres, Essie Beyond Cozy, Seche Vite Top Coat
Alrighty bye!

Here's what I used

OPI Nail Envy, Joe Fresh Cloud, Essie Over the Edge, Seche Vite Top Coat

Aaaaand just cuz I was so bored over the weekend... here's a picture of my Infinite collection xD
Still missing quite a lot... but it's not like I can buy everything at once -sigh- especially those freakishly expensive dvds ;~;
Getting there slowly tho~

Recent Purchases ~ Clothes, Accessories and Nail Polish/Care/Decor

Hello again! Finally I am back with a recent purchases (irl) post :P
So here's all the stuff I've bought over the last... few weeks(?) that I want to share :)

First off is this blazer jacket I got from Winners!

Carmen dark purple blazer jacket - $49.99, Winners
 Here's a close up + a better look at the colour~

Maybe cuz I was so depressed about not being able to find that purple/maroon blazer from the Aritzia warehouse sale... but I immediately gravitated to this blazer when I first saw it. There was also a deep red one and a dark green one, but I opted for this colour :)

Next off is this dress~
Black hi-low midi/maxi dress - $32.50, but I paid $19.5 + tax (40% off), Costa Blanca
There's such a funny story behind this dress... lol. I guess I should share it then xD... even though I am feeling a little lazy with the typing and what not.. but oh well. So in the beginning of the summer, I saw a navy version of this same dress in the store, and it also came in a burnt orange colour. I tried on the navy one and I really loved it because it's such a pretty and unique length, but I didn't feel like paying for it at the time (I feel like it was under 30 when I first saw it... maybe they raised the price? not sure...) so I thought I would try and wait for it to go on sale. School got busier so I didn't have time to visit the mall, but when I did, I remembered that dress so I went hunting for it, but they sold out of them pretty fast. When I eventually did go back to purchase it, they were all gone... so I was pretty sad since I wanted this type of dress for the summer. So I went into the store a few weeks ago and I saw this dress! This time they had it in black, a dark green and maybe another colour, I can't really remember. So I grabbed it, tried it on and purchased it. At the same time, I decided to get the SPC card from there so I could get 10% off the dress. I was super happy just to be able to get my hands on it!
Flash forward a few days - I check my email and Costa Blanca has a coupon for 40% off all of their full priced items. I was so mad!! So on that weekend, I went back to Costa Blanca, explained to the person working there at the counter ringing items up that I purchased the dress a few days earlier, and that I wanted to return it and use the 40% email coupon. She was really nice about it and said yes.. but even funnier she said "I think people have been doing that all day... but you're the first one to say it outright like that". I replied saying "isn't it better to be honest? Who likes spending more money than they have to? :P" She agreed, lol. Anyway I ended up getting this dress for ~$20 instead of ~$35. It felt awesome, lol.

Alrighty, that was a long ass story, lol. Onto the next items~ Accessories!

I got a few things from Aldo Accessories... cuz I'm crazy for those Infinity signs.. haha.. but only on dainty looking pieces x)

Infinity necklace - $8, Aldo Accessories
Also got these midi rings! I love how they look, but I really don't have many other rings that match with them... so I don't know how I'm gonna wear them >< But I WILL! Or else it'll be such a waste of money!! >__<
Gold midi rings - $8 (for both), Aldo Accessories
Next are these cute BCBG bracelets I found on discount at the Bay!

BCBG DREAM bracelet - $12.60, TRUE<3 bracelet - $7.20, the Bay
Yeah I dunno what's up with the price discrepancy between the two... but whatever. They're so cute! I don't have any other rose gold jewelry though.. so I'm not sure how to match these with other jewelry.. but I'll figure it out :P (btw I bought them at separate times.. the bottom 2 pictures have better lighting, so I decided to include them in too xD)

Alrighty, clothes + accessories, CHECK~
Onto nail stuff!

Nail rhinestones - $5/box
I picked up these nail rhinestones at a random store in Chinatown, since the price was decent. I dunno how often I'm gonna use these... I haven't even been painting my nails these days, but it seems my nail purchases are at their highest right now... lol.. I really need to stop buying so much of this stuff =_= It's such a bad addiction!

*Sigh*.... speaking of which... lol... I picked up these 6 nail polishes from Superstore.

Essie over the edge, merino cool, chinchilly, vested interest, where's my chauffeur and go ginza - $7.97 each, Superstore
I picked up a bottle of Seche Vite fast dry top coat and a bottle of OPI Nail Envy from Winners, on different days. I stopped using Seche Vite top coat because I thought it was way too expensive... but I realized it's about the same price as the Sally Hansen fast dry top coat... if I get the Seche Vite from Winners, lol. Honestly I feel that the Seche Vite is a better quality top coat. It doesn't bubble as much as the S.H one... for a person who loves layers and layers of top coat, I think the Seche Vite is a better product.
I've used the Nail Envy once, and it really does help harden your nails! I was too lazy to consistently apply it, but I felt its power with just one use!

Seche Vite fast dry top coat - $7.99 & OPI Nail Envy - $9.99, both from Winners
Next are these Milani jewel polishes~

Milani Silver & Gems - $4.99 each, Superstore
And FINALLY! Today I purchased these Covergirl outlast stay brilliant polishes from Superstore. They were on sale for under $5, and the limit was 4. PLUS it was no tax day, so I picked these four up!

Covergirl outlast stay brilliant nail poishes - 260 always autumn, 235 bronze beauty, 230 golden opportunity and 320 midnight magic
It's my first time picking up this brand/line of polishes, so I'm hoping they're good! Midnight Magic is sooo beautiful, but I couldn't capture it well >< I definitely need to reserve my next polish purchases to unique colours like this so I don't get multiples of different colours... only from different brands =_=

Anyway PHEW! That was a long post. That's it for now, cya later! :)

Random past nail art + future hair care purchases (maybe?)

Hello!
Thought I'd post tonight since I'm pretty darn bored, and thought I'd share what's on my nails now... Which led me to unloading pictures from my phone, which led to me unloading a lot of pics of past nail art. I always wanted to do a post dedicated to those nail designs I have on my phone, but didn't take nice pictures of with the big cam. Well, here they are!

Err... almost. A few notes before we begin.. :p
This post is a little photo-heavier than my usual posts.. juss sayin'
I apologize for crappy picture quality in advance... it was a really big switch from a 3GS to a 5... xD
I might not remember every polish I've used for these nail designs, so don't blame me if I can't name them all...

Alrighty, here we go!

OPI Dulce de Leche w/ some random off brand from night market one on top + nail stickers
The first ever time I tried a gradient!! It turned out pretty messy, lol. And I decided it was a good idea to take a pic before I cleaned up around the nails... yeah...

Essie e-nuf is e-nuf w/ glitter polishes... all off brands
Woo! Super glitter! Second time doing gradient.. I used like a million glitter polishes, lol

Essie Jamaica me crazy, Sinful Colors Frenzy, off brand Korean glitter
Guess I was really diggin' the gradients.. hahaha

Pretty sure this was Essie Jamaica me crazy again... + OPI Servin' Up Sparkle + other off brand sparkle/glitter polishes

OPI Pearl of Wisdom, OPI Last Friday Night + prob more random other sparkle polishes...
 Surprise, surprise! Another gradient hahahahaha

OPI Cuckoo for this Color + random metallic one from Daiso + loose glitter
Sorry, bad picture... but it's the only one I have! xD

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Raisin' the Bar + glitter PAINFULLY EXTRACTED from OPI Servin' Up Sparkle LOL
This one's really pretty :3 but it was hella tedious to do. This was around the time I started experimenting on/trying out more drugstore polishes... found out there really isn't much of a quality-difference between brands like OPI, Essie and some cheaper drugstore brands..

Rimmel Hard Metal + dotting tool + Revlon Silver Dollar
OPI Chapel of Love
Yup... this is just a swatch on the nails, I guess lol. Love the colour.

China Glaze For Audrey (my first and STILL my only CG polish) + lose glitter + rhinestone

My take on the "cloud" nail trend.. a yearish ago :) Joe Fresh Hula, Essie To Buy or Not to Buy, Jessica Bikini Blue
I'm quite fond of this cloud design too...  I've said to myself that I'd do it again some time... but I still haven't... maybe this summer, lol.

Essie To Buy or Not to Buy + lose glitter, individually placed
This is probably when I started my blog last year... hahaha anyway... next~

Sinful Colors You Just Wait + Essie Eternal Optimist + Essie Beyond Cozy
My nails from a few weeks ago.. forgot (too lazy..) to take pics of... but I got them on my phone lol so yay! I quite like the design, but the base colour looked soooo weird to me.. that's what inspired the design btw lol I couldn't stand how weird that one colour looked on my nails...

Finally... we have this picture of what's on my nails now :)

Wet n Wild Wild Shine Blazed
This colour looked a lot more... rosey pink in the bottle. On the nails, it's actually quite bright and eye catching. I'm falling in love with these brighter polishes all over again :)

Moving on...
I also wanted to talk about some hair products I've been scoping out recently.

1) Jason Tea Tree Shampoo+conditioner - spotted at London Drugs

I have problems with an itchy scalp.. and after trying Pantene, Dove and Organix, I finally went for the Head and Shoulders. It did a great job controlling the itch on my scalp.. but I could feel it drying out my hair soooo bad. I decided to try the Live Clean Fresh Water line. I decided on it cuz I heard that parabens & all that bad stuff in shampoos can irritate sensitive scalps.. so I thought the paraben & whatever whatever-free Live Clean brand would help. The first time I tried it, it felt pretty good, and the itch didn't come back. But after a few more washes, that itchy scalp was returning. After I finish the bottles of Live Clean I have right now, I'm pretty sure I'll try this Jason line. Hopefully it works...

2) Macadamia deep repair masque - also spotted at London Drugs.. on a diff day

I've heard sooooo much about this masque, but I've only seen it in person twice. Once at Shoppers' and it was in a big tub selling for $32. I felt way too cheap that day to drop 30+ on a hair mask, so I passed on it. I returned maybe a few days later, and all of them were sold out. Of course. It's a popular product. I've heard so many YouTubers recommend it, so I really wanna try this for myself. My hair is always a frizzy, hay-like mess.. ESPECIALLY after I shower and I let it air dry... It's not much better if I blow dry it.. unless I use a comb and legit straighten it with the blow drier.. ANYWHO. It's the first time I've seen this mask in a smaller tube, and it's only $15ish. Maybe if I see this again, I'll pick it up. If I'm not feeling like a total cheapo lol. It's better than paying 30+ for a product that I may or may not like.

*phew* that's it for now! Til next time :)

Toothpaste Nails! + Special Guest!!

Weeee! I did these toothpaste nails a while ago... so they're not in the best condition... (you can already see some of the nail that grew out.. xD)
I kept pushing back photographing them cuz I wanted to do so in the sunlight.. and everytime I would remember, the sun would already be set... But finally! Here we go c:

I didn't really notice they look like toothpaste.. until my older bro said so xD I thought that was such a funny name, even though he meant for it to be offensive (psh...) So that's the name of these!! Hehe.. Of course you could always replace the turquoise/mint  colour scheme for other others.. I was actually inspired by a picture I found online, and in that picture, they used pink colours instead. I just happened to be feeling turquoise-y that day.
Btw.. You have NO IDEA how long it took for me to take that picture^ I tried soooo many times to get the focus right.. but that's the best I could do... It's still not perfect.. or the exact way I would want it to be... (and the original picture was totally not centred...) but I really couldn't get it better than that u__u" So frustrating.. I wonder how I did it so easily for my rose nails the other time... Anyway, with the help of some cropping in PS, it is now presentable :p

Here's just another view...

And here's the polishes I used~ From the first coat to the last..

Essie Fill the Gap, Essie Turquoise and Caicos, Revlon Minted, Sally Hansen White On & Seche Vite Top Coat

*Drumroll* And here's my special guest!! xD His name's Allie.. or Ali if you like haha. He's modelling the hat I bought yesterday at Aritzia xD

Ivory & Black Fedora - $19.99 (sale), Aritzia
Anyway that's all for now! Bye bye! Say bye to Ali too :p

Here's everything I used~
Sally Hansen Hard As Nails - Love Rocks, Sinful Color - Frenzy aaaaand some random Korean one that I got from Cara a few years ago... :D
 K I'm done... for now :D

Nails ~ Blue/Purple & Polka Dots

Just a quick nail update... These were done a few days ago and they've started to chip a little bit so they're not in the best condition :p I know it's nothing complicated or intricate, but I was lazy and I needed something on my nails, haha.

Essie's Fill the Gap, Essie Lapis of Luxury, Revlon Blue Lagoon, random white one I got from the Face Shop a few years ago, there's no English name, just some Korean, Seche Vite top coat, dotting tools.

Lapis of Luxury took 3 coast to be opaque, so it was pretty smooth. It's my first time using it on my own nails since I've applied it to Cindy's nails before. Blue Lagoon doesn't have a very smooth finish.. The glitter ends up looking a bit chunky. Not sure if I got unlucky with the bottle, or it's just like that. The formula was pretty good for a light coloured and glittery polish - it took about 3-4 coats too. It's not horrible, but it looks better after applying a top coat.

Nails ~ Pale Pink & Roses

I just did these last night!!
Revlon Colorstay in Pale Cashmere - I LOVE THIS COLOUR!!
I was watching some cutepolish videos yesterday, and this was one of her tutorials. I saw it here and there a few times and decided to give it a try myself. I am quite pleased with them.. but they took me a while to do :p
Here are some more pictures - only my left hand though cuz that's the nicer one :p Plus it's easier to take pictures of it...
These took a total of 4 coats of Pale Cashmere x__x Light colours like this are almost always difficult... This one was definitely no exception. I got this polish a few days ago at Walmart because they were on sale.. or was it just rolledback or whatever? I'm not too sure, but it was under $5 where as normally, drug stores sell them for like 8 or 9 x_x. I heard the Revlon Colorstay formula is really good, so I've been wanting to try it for a while.. So yay!
Oh yeah~ And here are all the other tools and polishes I used.
Sinful Color - Envy, Essie - e-nuf is enuf, OPI - Italian Love Affair, Revlon Colorstay - Pale Cashmere
I also used Essie fill the gap! base coat, Seche Vite top coat and dotting tools to create the roses.
After I took these pictures, I applied another few coats of Revlon top coat just to prolong my mani's life :p Til next time!
