{ Nail Art } Christmas Nails 2014!!

Omg, this post is so late :(

I've done Christmas nails for the past couple years since I've started my blog, and this year is no exception :P

Sadly, I didn't find the time to post this before or on Christmas... so Merry belated Christmas everyone XD

Anyway this year, I did some Christmas sweater nails again. :) Enjoy!

the right hand... sorry for the blurry pictures, it's so hard to take photographs of your right hand while holding a DSLR with your left hand.. XD
my left (and non-dominant) hand did a pretty dang good job right?! I'm proud too xP
What I used: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, essie jag-u-are, Sinful Colors San Francisco, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear DIisco Ball, Sally Hansen nail art pen in white
Until next time~

Nails ~ Turquoise Gradient

Sooo yesterday I was looking through my polishes.. and I realized I have a lot of this kind of colour:

Revlon Minted, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Essie Turquoise & Caicos, Essie Where's My Chauffeur, Wet n Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint, China Glaze For Audrey, Sephora by OPI Ocean Love Potion, Sally Hansen Insta-dri Mint Sprint

Minty-torquoise-y colour? I actually really like this kind of colour, but I haven't worn it in so long cuz I know how badly it stains my nails.
Still, I decided to do a fun gradient with these and here's how it turned out!

I quite like it xD Although there's not a huge difference between my index, middle and ring fingers, I still think it looks good.

So here's what I used: I started off with this Sally Hansen Maximum Growth base coat because I've had it for a whole and it's like half gone. I thought I'd just use it again. Then I decided to paint some of this nude colour as a base first, so hopefully the turquoise doesn't stain my nails too badly (Wet n Wild megalast in 2% milk) and I topped my nails off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Here are the different shades of turquoise I used:

Essie Mint Candy Apple, Wet n Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint, China Glaze For Audrey, Essie Where's My Chauffeur and Sephora by OPI Ocean Love Potion.

I wonder if I have this many shades of other colours in my polish collection? Maybe I'll do the same thing with a different colour next time :P It was fun and I think it turned out quite nicely.
What do you think?

Nails ~ Pink & Sparkle

Long time no post! My life is boring so there's not much to post about LOL. Plus I haven't been doing much shopping either... and when I had something I wanted to blog about, I felt too lazy.. :x

but here I am! Here's just another nail look that I wanted to share. It's starting to chip now -sigh- but I'm just posting this now xD

I just did a simple combination of pink and metallic/glitter polishes. Still not feeling super bright colours atm cuz I don't wanna stain my nails.

Here's what I used:

OPI Nail Envy, Essie Spin the Bottle, Essie Hors D'oeuvres, Essie Beyond Cozy, Seche Vite Top Coat
Alrighty bye!

Nails ~ Dusty Plum + Metallic Leopard

Yay! Finally I'm back with another nail post ^__^
It feels like it's been forever since I've done my nails xD

Anyway I felt like going with something a little more subtle since I don't really want to stain my nails really, really bad (although they'll probably still be stained -__-). My nails ended up being really stained from the Christmas manicures - green polish always stains your nails :( Anyhow, I chose this dusty plum colour with a metallic accent finger and a leopard design on my middle fingers with little dots on the rest.

I'm really happy with how these turned out :D! It's my first time trying out the leopard design, and I think it won't be the last time! ^_^

Here's what I used:
Essie Merino Cool, Covergirl Outlast Bronze Beauty and Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Black

Alrighty~ until next time :)

Nails ~ Holographic Sparkles

Hello~ I'm back with another nail post :) I did this one for new years... sorta, even though I had no plans for new years... lol :c
I decided to do something sparkly, like last year, but using some different newer polishes ^^

Here's the polishes I used~ OPI Rainbow Connection, Essie Over the Edge, Born Pretty Store holographic polish and Sally Hansen nail art pen in black
Doesn't the holographic polish look so cool?! I love the effect that this polish gives :D If you remember, I purchased it a while ago from BornPrettyStore.I thought I could use it alone on my nails, but you actually have to use it on top of a base colour. In this case, I just layered it on top of the black colour seen on my index, middle and ring fingers. The bottle is so freaking tiny... so I don't think I'll get much use out of it :c but still, the effect is super cool and I'm glad I decided to buy this polish from BPS. I do think the holo effect only works in specific lighting, though. Sometimes, it just looks like boring ol' silver, which sucks... cuz all I really want is the cool holo effect... but I guess since it still looks super cool sometimes, depending on the lighting, it's worth it.

Alrighty, that's it~ bye~

Nails ~ Christmas Nails 2.0! + Christmas Market Adventure!

Hello again :D I'm here to share some more Christmas nails I did a few days ago :P

They're pretty similar to the ones in my last post... I loved the colour combination so much on my nails, I decided to do something similar :D
Oh and there's a cute little star on the snowflake... can you see it? ^^

Here's the right hand~ My left hand did a pretty good job, no? :D

I used the same Christmas polish duo I've been using for like 3 years now, lol. :p
Sinful Colors San Francisco, Essie jag-u-are, and this nail art pen that I got the other day. It's just a plain white instead of the pearl white I used in my last post.

I went to the Christmas market with Cindy a while ago, and I finally got around to editing the pictures~ Enjoy~

Merry Christmas Eve!! Bye now~ :)

Nails ~ Christmas Sweater Design!! + New Shoes :D

Hello hello! I'm back again with Christmas nails! I had soooo much fun with these. Can't wait to do my next Christmas mani xD gotta get in a few more before Christmas passes!

Yeah... I took so many pictures and I couldn't choose... so I just posted a bunch. I clearly had too much fun with thes nails, haha.

And here's a rare look at the right hand!
I have to say, I did a pretty damn good job with these considering I had to draw with my left - aka non-dominant - hand. Don't you agree? ^__^

Here's a closer look at all my fingers, haha.

Here's what I used. I used these two polishes for the third Christmas in a row.. haha. I guess they were a good investment? xD

Essie jag-u-are, Sinful Colors San Fransisco, Sally Hansen nail art pen in Pearly White (I didn't know this was pearly when I bought it... I wish it was just a normal white one.. but I work with it haha)

Aside from my awesome nails, I also got two new pairs of booties recently.
Remember the Arturo Chiang Averly booties I bought last year? Yeah they crapped out on me, and it hasn't even been a year since I purchased them! The sole on the right foot basically cracked in half, cuz the way the designed it isn't that great... Water leaks into the shoe :( sigh~
I don't know if it's because the quality just wasn't as a good as I expected... or it's just that everything I own/use seems to break so much faster, lol. Maybe I'm just a rough person....? lmao. But seriously the original price of those were like ~$150? Even though I didn't buy it for that price, I still expected better quality...

Anyway I ended up buying these Expression booties (yeah, they basically look exactly like the Averly booties, but just a little shorter haha. I think the heel is a little taller too maybe? I'm not too sure) from The Bay not too long ago, since I needed some boots to wear when it's raining/snowing. The Bay had a one day sale, 50% off all boots, and I decided to go and try to find a pair. These are originally $79, but I got them for half price. They're pretty comfortable, and the material is shinier than the Averlys. But I'm not sure about the quality; I took a look at the sole, and it's one piece, unlike the Averlys, so I decided for less than $50, I'd give them a go. Oh I don't think they're real leather like the Averlys though, that's one difference.
I walked a whole day in them (the day I went to three malls, lol) and they were really comfortable for the first few hours, but later, some parts of my feet started hurting. Not bad for the first day. For now I'd say these were worth it.
I need to go see a cobbler to see how much it would cost to repair the Averlys, but these Expression booties are good for now. Btw they're on sale right now! :D
Expression Gladiolus Western Bootie available here.

Today I went on another ~adventure~ to Richmond, and I found another pair of booties! I dunno why but Arturo Chiang's designs are really my taste, lol.

Arturo Chiang Sprinkle available here.
Btw isn't that just an adorable name? Sprinkle. Haha.. I don't think it necessarily matches the shoe, but it's so cute lmao.

So there's a pretty funny story behind these shoes. I went downtown last Tuesday and I saw these shoes and tried them on cuz they had a size 9 out for display. I FELL IN LOVE. I've been wanting a bootie with a bit of a heel for a few months now, and I kept my eye on these shoes. Actually the first time I saw them was at Metro a month? if not a few weeks ago, and I noted them to myself in my head.
Anyway I was just casually waiting for them to go on sale. Then last Thursday, I saw the email about the one day event - 50% off all boots - at the Bay in my email, so I decided to go to try and hunt them down. First I tried the Bay at Oakridge, but I couldn't find them. Then I went downtown. When I reached the Bay at PC, it was NUTS. There were piles of shoes everywhere and it was just... it was so crazy. I couldn't find this boot so I asked an employee there and she said they sold out of it :(
So I decided to try the Bay at Lougheed, I hopped on the skytrain and went all the way to Burnaby, lol. That was fun, especially when it was freezing cold that day....>_> Of course I couldn't find them at Lougheed, so I headed to Metro, since that's usually how I get home from Lougheed/Bby mountain campus anyway.
So of course, I couldn't find them at Metro either... I found a brown pair in the same style.. but I really didn't like how they looked on my feet. So I decided to give up, and told myself it's just not meant to be~
THEN~ today I went to Richmond Centre to return the William Rast sweater from my last post, I decided to check out the shoes there since I was there already. I was just browsing around, and I saw this bootie! The one on display was a size 10 though, but I thought I'd just ask if they had a 9 just in case... even though apparently it's a really popular shoe. So I ask... and they couldn't find it in the backroom.
The lady working there told me they just implemented a new system where they can see if they have the shoe in stock at any other Bay, or you could place an order and they could just ship them directly to your house. Seriously, it's about time they had a system like this =_=. Anyway the lady said I could just order them and get them shipped to my house... but of course that didn't work out.... So they looked the shoe up in a 9 to see if any other Bay had them in stock. Apparently they had a pair, but the lady said it was so crazy from that one day sale that someone probably just bought the shoes without the box, and the box has the code. She also said Metro and Guildford both have a pair in stock (at least according to the computer system). So I just said thank you and I was just about to give up :( I was thinking "this just isn't meant to be....." then I was just about to leave but I decided to go back and ask one of the ladies working there if they could call Metro and check if they have it or not. She tried calling but they didn't pick up.
Just then, I looked at the shelf full of UGGs right near the cashier counter, and there's the bootie I was looking for (the Arturo Chiang Sprinkle) and I decided to go and pick up that boot. So I pick it up... and guess what? It was a size 9!! I brought it to the lady and said... "hey, this is a 9". And she was like 0__0 Cuz the computer said they had a pair in stock at RC, in a 9, but they couldn't find it in the back. So at that point I had ONE shoe. I needed to find the other. So the lady and I go around the shoe section looking for that other foot, and we couldn't find it, so she looked in their store room. Of course they didn't find it...
So the lady decided to try and get me to try other similar booties they had in stock... and just when the lady was leading me to another bootie... she looked on the sale racks, bent down, and picked up a black boot. I remember thinking "sigh of course that can't be it...." and she picked it up. AND IT WAS IT!!! It was the other foot!!! I finally found the complete pair of shoes xD And I was like OH MY GOD I can't believe none of us (two employees and me) saw it!! And I gave the lady a hug LOL cuz I was just so damn happy.
So yeah. Last pair. Size 9. And even though it was still $105 on sale.. I just bought them. I still have Bay giftcards anyway, so yeah I just bought them. IT'S FATE!!! -sigh- I am so happy. LOL what a long drawn out story... but yep. There's my "happy ending" for the day... LOL

SO YEAH. These are my new booties~ apparently they're back in stock online... I remember checking a couple times on the website and I couldn't find it. But it's not on sale on the website... like it was in the store, so I dunno what's up with that. Anyway I'm just so happy that I found them. They're finally mine!!!!!

Wow. Holy crap look at that block of text. Okay my fingers are tired. That's the end of my post for today~ Until next time~

Nails ~ Dusty Dark Teal + Bonus Dessert Adventure~

Hello again!
I finally had time to paint my nails.. and I was in the mood for it after a long, hard week.
I picked this really pretty dark dusty teal colour from Essie called "Vested Interest". Very appropriate for fall :)

(I finally wore my midi rings for the first time!! So proud lol)
I used Essie "Vested Interest" and Covergirl "Midnight Magic". They make a great combo :p

...and here's just a random addition of some dessert pictures lol.
This was at Sweet Revenge.

Yeah this one isn't very photogenic.. lol... looks like a hamburger patty, mashed potatoes and gravy... but it was good nonetheless.

K that's all for now. Bye!

Nails ~ Mint + Silver & Small polish haul + Jewelry

Hello~ just wanted to pop in here and share my most recent nails and some other stuff :)

I went for the mint+silver trend that's really popular these days >< I know this design looks like something so stereotypical lol like something you'd see on instagram/pintrest etc. but whatever :P I just got Mint Candy Apple really recently and I felt like wearing mint... so yeah, whatever.

Here's the polishes I used
Revlon Silver Dollar, Essie Set in Stones, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Art Deco Silver
I'm really loving Mint Candy Apple. The colour is adorable and I think it goes well with my skin tone :P The polish is really, really thick though. I'm not sure if it's just the bottle I bought, or if the formula is just like that.. but yeah it was hellllla thick. It probably only takes 2 coats to be opaque, but I kept putting more layers on, hoping for it to smooth out... it didn't work really well :x Maybe I should try thinner layers next time, although I find it really hard to control the thickness of the layers especially when I'm doing my right hand, using my left. But yeah, the colour is really cute and I'm loving it so far.

Here's some polishes I bought recently
Essie Sunday Funday, Saturday Disco Fever, Bikini So Teeny and As Gold As It Gets, Superstore, $7.97
I picked up 4 cuz that was the limit at Superstore lol.. plus they were having a no tax event, so yeah.. I sorta went a lil bit crazy xD
Sunday Funday is a cute pink-coral with subtle glitter, Saturday Disco Fever is a bright red-orange, Bikini So Teeny is a light blue with really subtle glitter and As Gold As It Gets is a gold glitter from their Luxeffects line from a few Christmases ago.

Lastly is just a few jewelry pieces I've picked up recently
Infinity bracelet, Icing, $9.75 and Material Girl Gold&Silver stud bracelet, The Bay, $5.99 (sale)
I just love anything infinity... :P they had some necklaces but I knew if I bought those, I'd never wear them anyway.. and plus they were all pretty tacky looking except one gold, really dainty one.. but I'd never wear that, plus I feel like the gold will rub off really quick anyway.. so no point :/

That's all for now ^^
