Update ~ Where I've been, what's coming + K-pop/K-drama talk

OH MY GOSH I've missed my blog so much :(!
I had lotsa pictures taken of some stuff I've purchased over the past little while.. but my laptop broke down a week ago, so I had to take it in to get fixed. Everything was running fine, but the image on the screen wouldn't show! Anyway the guy at the repair shop called me last Saturday and said that it would take a week to fix it. Well, it's already been a week.. and no call from him... If I wait a few more days and I still don't get a call, I think I'll call in. :/ I miss my laptop! My life is so empty without a personal computer!!!
Luckily I remembered a few days after I took my laptop in that there's an older netbook that my brother bought but doesn't use anymore downstairs, so I brought that up and started using it. It's what I'm using now to write this post. =_= A working computer is a working computer... no matter how slow...

Anyway, I made another some other online purchases, and in-person purchases, I guess, that I was gonna blog about, but I can't really do that right now. Seeing as I'm using this slow little netbook... But yeah, those will be coming up soon... when I get my laptop back :( (hopefully that is soon!!)

Hm. I guess I had more to say about my life, but it's pretty boring as always so I guess that's it.
ONTO the Korean stuff!!

So I usually stop watching dramas when a school semester starts, but since I started "Master's Sun" during my break, and it's still not finished airing yet, I've been catching up on it every week, since they've been releasing new episodes. I am hooked on this drama. HOOKED. That literally doesn't even begin to describe how much I love this drama. I haven't felt this way about a drama for a while :P I'm going to be very sad when it ends next week... but on the bright side, HEIRS is finally airing! I'm so excited for that drama since I'm a fan of both Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye. I've been contemplating whether or not I should follow that drama week by week during my semester too... or if that would be a bad idea... I guess I can decide later hehe. My gosh I'm so off topic.
Anyway, MASTER'S SUN. DEFINITE RECOMMEND. So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin's chemistry is just superb! Both their acting is amazing and I love the interaction between the two. I really wish they would just date in real life and get married, they're such a perfect couple!!
-Sigh-! I resisted watching the mvs for the drama's OSTs for a while, but I finally stumbled upon them today and watched all of them in one fell swoop! Here are some of my favorites :)

Touch Love - Tasha Yoon Mi Rae
I love this song! I totally didn't know it was Tasha until I saw the mv. The song fits the drama so well, and Tasha does such a fantastic job conveying the emotions in the song. I will definitely add this to my playlist when my laptop gets home :)

You Make Me Crazy - Hyorin of Sistar
I'm such a big fan of Hyorin and her raspy, exquisite voice. Her contribution Master's Sun's soundtrack is one of my favorites!

As you can see, I've been pretty obsessed with So Ji Sub lately :P I have to say he's been one of my biggest crushes at the moment! He's just so manly, but emotive when he acts. I really love his eyes especially.. hehehe ><

I guess this leads me to talk about my biggest K-industry crushes atm!
These are in no particular order.. but of course, So Ji Sub is first on the list!!

I finally watched ep 163 of Running Man yesterday, where G-Dragon, Seung Ri and Dae Sung appear as guests, and GD as totally taken me by surprise!! He was just working so hard and he was just so funny in that episode.. I don't know! I think I'm liking him more and more these days xD It's weird since in the beginning of my K-pop career, I never really cared for GD cuz of his nasally voice and his annoying rapping, but he's totally grown on me so much these past few years :)

I think it's just amazing how he can go from the charismatic performer on stage...

....to this....
LOL
and this!
GD had me laughing soooo hard during this episode oh my gosh... if you haven't watched it, you must go watch it!

LOL... he's such a freaking goof!! xD

GD totally had a mental breakdown there... XD <3
...but then he's also soooo adorable!!

.... x)

Ok! Third and forth on my list :D
So I got into watching YG's new boy group's survival program, Who is Next, or WIN, and I've really started liking some of the boys who appear in that program ><

I was drawn to Bobby, who reminds me of HimChan from B.A.P :p except with cute crooked teeth and an adorable eye smile...

I love his voice and the way he raps too ><!
Oh... one more thing I should mention, I think lol. He's from the States so he's fluent in English! Definite points booster in my books!~

As I kept watching.. another member caught my eye! And it's none other than the leader of team B, B.I/Han Bin!

I think he's so ridiculously charismatic.. you can't help but be drawn to him :x but these guys are so young ;~; seriously! I'm admittedly a bit of an ageist... so it's a tiny bit hard to swallow when I end up picking biases who are sooo much younger than me... (Bobby is a 95er and B.I is a 96er.... holy shit u_u") All of team B is so young though!! Ah well, whatever. It's not like I can't get over it xD Or else I wouldn't still like B.A.P's Zelo!
Anywho, here's B.I and all his glory~ :p

Ugh and I can't help but share this clip of B.I's mom and little sister visiting him.... so cute oh my gosh >< Way to win a girl's heart!

I also like Team A's Song Mino (I recognize him from Block B's predebut activities and his failed+disbanded group, BoM), Lee Seung Hoon (I've liked him ever since I saw him on Kpop Star ><) and Kang Seung Yoon (he's ADORABLE, must write more about him later). I'm not sure which team I like better D: I just really want both teams to debut... but maybe not at the same time? Maybe I'll do another post about WIN some other time, haha.

WOW that was a long post.. LOL I guess it's because I haven't rambled in a while... I should probably get ready for bed seeing as how I have school tomorrow.. haha. Alrighty, hope I can update with some other stuff soon. Bye! :)

K-Drama - Monstar Update

Damn this drama! I am so hooked xD I might not be like the best drama ever or anything, but I'm a huge sucker for high school dramas. Plus, I really appreciate the emphasis on music and the creative contributions to the music pieces inserted into the drama.

I just finished ep 8 earlier tonight and I can't believe I have to wait another week for the next episode... -sigh-! Gyu Dong ;~; sigh. Ugh, sigh. His character/situation reminds me of some scenes from School 2013. Damn that was a good drama. I should do a post about my favorite 2013 dramas so far... Soon ^^

Anyway, here are some of my favorite music scenes from the drama (continuing from my last post on Monstar...)

Love this cover of Trouble Maker! I love seeing dance songs like this broken down into basic parts and reproduced in a more fundamental manner (as in only the most basic sounds are used to reproduce the song).

Such a cute cover of the "original" song played on the CD in the drama/sung by Se Yi. Junhyung's voice is cute xD I like how this cover shows that he can sing!

Adorable display of the sort-of bromance between these two, haha. But seriously, stuff like this really makes me wish I learned how to play piano when I was a little kid :(!

Kang Ha Neul can really sing. Plus he's good looking haha. I really like his cover of Hyorin's (Sistar) song, "I Choose to Love You". The original is fantastic too; Hyorin's one of my favorite females in K-pop :)

This drama has really made me of a fan of Dahee (Glam) who plays Kim Nana in the drama. She has really pretty voice and she's cute! Kim Ha Neul and her sing this lovely duet, "Human Love".

Finally~ Colorbar's performance :) Dahee<3!! Junhyung's part in the middle was super cheesy though. Even though I do like him... I couldn't help but cringe at that part xD

Another pretty cover. I seriously love the organic nature of the covers in this drama. Such a cute scene too :)

Here's a bonus :) This is an OST track from Monstar called "After Time Passes" or "Past Days" by Beast's Yong Junhyung, who stars in Monstar, and several BTOB members. Love the softness of Junhyung's voice in the beginning, and I'm a huge fan of Changseob's voice <3

Okie dokes, that's all for now :) Bye~

K-Stuff ~ Kpop & Kdrama Updates

Hello c:
One of the reasons I decided to start blogging again was so that I could talk about stuff here that I can't talk to anyone else about...either because they wouldn't know what I'm talking about, or I think they'll be disinterested... :p

Well anyway, I'm a Korean pop-culture addict, and here are just some things that I've really been enjoying recently :D

First off is some songs!

1. B2st (Dongwoon & Yoseob) & BTOB (Changseob & Ilhoon) - Bye Bye Love (When a Man's in Love OST)

I've been suuuper addicted to this song recently. A while ago, it was the only thing I listened to on repeat... On my way to school, while driving, on the computer.. everywhere! I know it's not a particularly excellent song or anything, but it's just really addictive. There's no desperate pop-trend element that pops up, begging for the public's attention because it's a soundtrack song/OST for a drama. I enjoy Changseob's voice sooo much! It totally helps his case that he's adorable and dorky haha... Yeah, my bias in BTOB might be shifting from Hyunshik to Changseob >.< Anyway~ My favorite part of the song is at 3:46 - Changseob's part in the climax (my opinion) of the song.. it totally blows me away. I've listened to only that one line over and over again as well. Sigh, I don't know, I just really like this song.

2. BTOB - My Girl

Ah~ Another one of my favorites :) I don't know.. it's just a really sweet and soothing love song. It makes me wish my future boyfriend would sing it to me haha, it's a really really sweet song that fits the nice weather we've been having lately. Hmm.. maybe it's better to imagine me being able to see BTOB singing it live one day... haha, a girl can dream.
I'm glad I purchased the physical copy of this album, BTOB's 2nd mini album titled Press Play. It contains some good songs... K, maybe I'm just BTOB biased cuz I've followed them for a while now... since their debut, actually. I've watched all their diary episodes and their B+ Diary.. and a whole bunch of other videos. I dunno, they're dorky and weird but in a very likable way, lololol. They're one of my favorite rookies from 2012, alongside a few others.

Anywho, beware of cavities after listening to this song/reading the lyrics :p

3. C-Clown - 멀어질까봐/Far Away... Young Love (Acoustic Guitar Ver.)

Ah... another rookie group I've really been liking. Their most recent single, "Shaking Heart" is pretty good too (actually, the whole album is pretty good.. but I digress), but I think their second single (this video...) still tops my personal chart. This is the acoustic version; the original version is pretty good too, but I think I just prefer this version as of right now. When this album first came out a few months ago, I listened to the songs sooooo much that I got sick of them. So for a while, they were off my current playlist.. but I decided I had enough of a break and re-added the songs back into my playlist. It's a really catchy song. I think this group has talent and I hope to see them succeed in the future (same for BTOB.. :p) It's actually kinda funny cuz one of the rappers in C-Clown was really close to debuting as a member of BTOB. His stage name in CC is T.K but his real name is Minwoo. He's a real cutie :p I think he's my bias. When he raps, there's just something about his voice that's really attractive... even though he's several years younger than me <__<" I dunno, he enunciates really well and his rapping is very... smooth. On top of that, he can also sing. :D

On a different note, I really don't like the group names BTOB or C-Clown very much... I came across an interview with the leader of C-Clown, Rome (he's from Australia! and he looks suspiciously like CNB's Yonghwa... but I digress... again) explaining the meaning of "C-Clown."

It's a really cool concept, and it has a pretty profound meaning.. but I dunno.. C-Clown? :/ Meh. And BTOB (Born to BEAT! *snap*) isn't much better either lol ;-; I heard G.na came up with the name... le sigh. Oh well, it's not like I can change their names. =_= Just gotta live with it.

Ooh, looks like I've finished the song part of this post xD Now onto.. dramas! Or in this case, drama.
The one and only drama I've been watching these days is....

Monstar!
I really didn't expect myself to be watching this.. I like Beast, but it's not like I'm a big fan of Junhyung or anything xD Anyway I started watching because a few weeks ago, the English subbed version of the first ep popped up in my YouTube subscription feed and I was curious. I was pretty much hooked after that 1 ep. The plot is pretty cheesy, I mean it is a high school drama, so that's to be expected, right? But I've always enjoyed high school dramas. I guess my taste is going to be forever immature xD OH WELL!
I think Junhyung is doing a lot better than I thought I would perceive him to be... I mean.. I actually find him a lot more attractive than before.

I'm not much of an acting critic, but I think he's doing an alright job. The rest of the cast is ok too. The second male lead is from To the Beautiful You (pretty stupid drama... but again, I enjoyed it too.. Lee Hyun Woo is a freaking cutie... LOL ok I'm digressing again) and he's a good lookin' fella. The female lead is cute. I think her facial expressions are a little awkward sometimes, but it's nothing that distracts from the storyline, so it's fine. Oh that reminds me, here's a part of the ep 1 (there's currently only 3 eps out...fml) that I really enjoyed:

I really like the female lead's character, standing up for the poor dude getting bullied :/ I think it's quite a beautiful scene. It reminds me of School 2013 (man that was a good drama, I wish I blogged about my experience watching it!) and the relationships between students that are so foreign to me. Ooh I should add, I really enjoyed how the singing was LIVE. I remember watching Dream High/DH2 and I was so irritated that the idol singers couldn't sing live/weren't allowed to sing live.

Oh yeah... and it definitely doesn't hurt that Sungjae, Hyunshik, Changseob and Minhyuk from BTOB are acting as Junhyung's band mates in the drama. Even though we don't get to see them much.. I still enjoy their presence. (Cube fam ftw!)

Overall I'm enjoying the drama. Don't watch it expecting a brilliant plotline or award worthy acting. It's just a fun drama to watch.

Phew! What a long post... alrighty, I think I'm gonna wrap it up here. See you next time!

K-Drama - The Innocent Man, Nice Guy (2012)

I've finally finished this drama!!! It's only been a few days... (has it even been a week?! zomg..) since I've started, but I'm FINALLY finished ~__~ This drama was just soooo heavy that it feels like I took a long, long time to watch it. I'm not sure if I love that feeling or not.. heh. It was enjoyable, but I spent a lot of time hitting my chest during the drama... I don't know how else to describe it xD It was good... it wasn't great, though. I feel like the idea for the ending was good, but it could have been executed a lot better. The way they tied things up in the end felt really rushed, and they had to sacrifice a lot of things - including quality...- to be able to conclude it cleanly. Overall I still think City Hunter is a better drama, that's in the same sort of genre. Nice Guy was just a little too heavy for my tastes, I guess. The leads had great acting and fantastic chemistry, though. I love how Joongki and ChaeWon look together c: Hehehehe.

I thought this was such a beautiful, beautiful touch. When I started the first episode, I thought I saw wrong, so I had to go back and rewatch it. He's smiling.. at the end.. while the clock ticks forwards instead of speeding backwards... such a clever touch c: Awww Joongki's face -sigh- I'm going to miss watching that too.. lol.
Oh yeah, and during the last few episodes... everything happened so fast... but it was when I bawled watching it ;__; That conversation between Maru and JaeHee where he blames himself for everything that has happened, and how JaeHee wouldn't be like that if Maru didn't take the blame for her killing that man 5?6?7? years ago. It was so beautifully done.. bravo Joongki & SiYeon, bravo! I felt like you could really feel the deep relationship between those characters -sigh- T_T And also that conversation between Maru and JaeHee where he asserts that he refuses to die with her because he's never done anything wrong in his life. Everything he has done/does is selfless, and he has no reason to be punished... that was so heartbreaking..thinking about all the things he had to endure to protect people he loves. And I think that's one thing that really helps you get into this drama... the characters are brought to life and developed so well that you actually begin to empathize with them and believe that they exist.
Anyway overall, good drama, not great. Great character development and casting, awesome acting, oh yeah! And a pretty darn awesome OST to boot.

It's fun being able to blog about dramas :p I think I'll do this more often... it's nice having a place to just blab about it.
